UPX is a free, portable, extendable, high-performance executable packer for several different executable formats. It achieves an excellent compression ratio and offers very fast decompression. Your executables suffer no memory overhead or other drawbacks. It is possible to unpack packed EXE files.

You may use UPX freely for both non-commercial and commercial executables. Source available.

This command line program has a good range of options and "feels" better than the others. It also produces VERY small compact files. A decompress command line option is available. This program is my pick of the bunch.
