Display a file's MD5

The generated HTML report for an MSI will list the MD5 for a file if you created it on a PC with at least Windows Installer 2.0 installed.

If you wish to see whether any particular files contents have changed (its date/time may have altered) then you can have MAKEMSI calculate an MD5 for it (via the "MmMd5.VBS" tool). If the calculated MD5 is the same as that in the HTML report then they are identical.

Malicious Script Popups

Due to windows limitations a VBSCRIPT is used to populate the users "Send To" location.

This feature requires a script to run during user logon you may be prompted for authorisation.

Windows NT, 2000, XP and Future Versions

To invoke the MD5 calculation you right click on any file(s) in Explorer and choose the "Display MD5" option under "Send To", example follows:

Note that this option may not be available until you have logged off then back on.

Windows 95, 98 and ME

To invoke the MD5 calculation you right click on any file in Explorer and choose the MD5 option.
