PPWIZARD is a free preprocessor for HTML, REXX, Visual Basic or any text files.

\ -> Standard Definitions -> <?..>

This symbol is replaced by a "dot dot" path (something similar to "..\..\") which is the path from the main input file to the base directory. If the file is in the base directory then the symbol would return "".

An example of where this could be handy is if you have a graphics directory off the root and you wish to point to a file (e.g. "<?..>graphics\logo.gif"). This of course assumes your source directory structure matches the html/web directory structure.

This is a Standard Definition which always exists (you don't need to #define it). Note that you can create your own variations or completely new ones (see the examples).

Example - Converting Slashes

This example is useful for non Unix operating system where you may wish to generate relative URLs to match your directory structure:

#DefineRexx REXX_$$UnixSlash
   TheValue = ReplaceString(TheValue, "\", "/")

Normal : <?..>
Unix   : <?.. $$UnixSlash>
