Color Configuration

PPWIZARD can display its output in color, you can configure these values with the /ColorCfg switch or through these environment variables:

  1. PPWIZARD_COLOR_DEFAULT
  2. PPWIZARD_COLOR_ERROR
  3. PPWIZARD_COLOR_HIGHLIGHT
  4. PPWIZARD_COLOR_INFO
  5. PPWIZARD_COLOR_PromptText
  6. PPWIZARD_COLOR_RESET
  7. PPWIZARD_COLOR_RexxTrace
  8. PPWIZARD_COLOR_SUMMARY
  9. PPWIZARD_COLOR_TITLE
  10. PPWIZARD_COLOR_WARNING
  11. PPWIZARD_COLOR_?user

Note that a black background has been assumed when defining the default colors, if you use a different color you may wish to alter the defaults. Different operating systems and computer monitors may also display colors differently enough to need adjustment.

To see a list of available color codes from a command line type "ctext.exe", as this is an invalid command line it will display some basic help, a list of the basic codes:

The ANSI Color Codes

In ANSI mode the codes are sent directly to the console, so this actually can support any sequences of characters required to set colors and not just ANSI (although all colors would require reconfiguration as this defaults to ANSI). The basic ANSI codes are:
