Easily search your entire hard drive in less than a second to pinpoint the right file, e-mail, music or pictures. CDS brings the power of a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use search engine right to your PC and allows you instantly to search files, e-mails, and email attachments stored anywhere on your PC hard drive. It executes sub-second searching of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, Acrobat PDFs, and all popular music, picture and video formats. CDS also searches your browser history, favorites, and contacts. Does not handle non IE browsers or email clients (like 'Thunderbird"). Does not search the internet. It sounds like this one won't have the "agressive indexing" issue that "Google Desktop" has... |

Indexes files, IE cache and outlook messages. Does not handle other browsers or email clients (like 'Thunderbird"). It also searches the internet. It looks good however I have removed it from my desktop until they fix their "agressive scanning" which is likely to cause developers a lot of pain when tasks die due to files being in use. |

Xteq X-Find is a great program to find what you are looking for. Simply select where and what it should search and press "Go"; that's all you need to do. You can even specify a text that it should find inside the files. After the requested files have been found, select one and X-Find will display it in the same window (no extra program is started). X-Find is also able to highlight the searched text when viewing the file. |

Free desktop search. I haven't tried it. blinkx reads what you have on your computer screen and automatically links you to related information - Web sites, the latest news on the Web, even documents and e-mails on your own computer and now with version 2.0, you can even access content from your favourite P2P networks. |
A complete listing of all URLS is available if you are having trouble locating a URL.
If you have some completely free software (no adware and without timeouts or major restrictions) which you would like listed then please email me:
This page was automatically created from Windows internet shortcuts (or favorites) created with IE or Netscape (OS/2 WPS URLs can also be imported). You can comment any link or category and just about anything can be changed (links don't even need to be in tables). PPWIZARD, a free tool for Windows, Mac OS X, Unix or OS/2 built these pages using this source code .
All URLs are checked periodically using the my free URL validation tool (for Windows and OS/2). This ensures that very few if any links point to moved pages or return 404 errors etc.
